WAIKATO RIVER BOARD
Monthly Meeting. At the monthly meeting of the Waikato River Board, held on Saturday last, there were present Messrs A. Glass (chairman), S. P. Pendegrast, and M Gallery, with the Clerk (Mr E. IJallett). J F. ONE TEA CREEK In a letter addressed to the Board Mr E. S. Shepherd, of Rangeriri, asked for some improvement to be effected to the Te Onetea creek leading from Raogiriri under the railway line and out to the Waikare Lake. For some months, he said, the sand bar at the entrance of the lake had been so shallow as to practically stop all navigation but the water was now deeper and there would be no trouble at this place until next summer. He pointed out that willow trees had fallen into and across the stream which made it difficult to got through with motor boats and barges. He added that he and Messrs Griffiths and Co., the owners of the new Haxmill, would contribute towards the cost of clearing the stream and asked if the work could be put in hand at once. On the motion of the Chairman the Board decided to contribute £lO towards the improvement provided the sum of £5 was paid between the parties. The Clerk was directed to reply to Mr Shepherd to that effect.

Sellar) reported that since the last meeting the work on the Maungatawhiri creek had been continued, but it had not proceeded fast owing to the heavy willows which had to be removed.
