Nixon and Mrs Nixon desire to thank most heartily all who helped to make the Jubilee Celebrations such an unique success Thanks are due not only to the office bearers and the choir, who so ably aided in the Bunday services, but especially to the willing band of ladies who voluntary prepared and decorated the Premier Hall and supervised the supper on Monday night. 241 PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL NOTICE TO STRIKE MTES Notice is hereby given in compliance with Section 78, 80, 82, 88 and 89 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, Section 50 of the Rating Act, 1908, and Section 41 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, that it is the intention of the Pukekoho Borough Council, at the next ordinary meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 19 th, 1918, at 7.30 p.m, to strike and levy the following rates for the year ending March 31st, 1919, viz :

A General rate of Id; a Hospital and Charitable Aid rate of 1 6of Id and a Lighting rate of |d in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property within the Borough. A Separate Water rate : (I) Consumers rate in respect of the ordinary supply (8000 gallons per six months) on all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, to be based on the annual value, viz: (a} where the annual value does not exceed £l2 10s the sum of 10s; (b) where the annual value exceeds £l2 10s, 5 per cent on the first £3OO of such value, and 4 per cent on the balance of such value above £3OO ; (c) upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than as dwelling houses half the above rates. (2) Non-coflsumers rates: Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situated withm 100 yards of any part of the Waterworks, one half of the rates above mentioned! (3) Upon all lands and buildings supplied with private mains 5 per cent on the first £SO, 2.V per cmt on the second £SO and 1 per cent on so much of such value as exceeds £IOO. And a uniform fee for nightsoil removal of 26s per pan. All the above rates to be payable in one instalment on the 15th day of July, 1918. The Valuation Eoi, together with estimated amount of expenditure and receipts for the year, is now deposited for inspection during office hours at the Office of the Council, Edinl u-gh Street. J. F.
