PAPATOETOE
Arrangements for the Boy Scouts' Carnival on June 3rd are well in hand and a good day's sport is in view. Stalls, and afternoon tea and side shows will be in evidence It is hoped that at least two brass bands from Auckland will be in attendance. During the afternoon the Scouts will | give a display of ambulance and stretcher drill. Several of the Auckland troops have signified their intention to be present and give displays in field work Various sports events will also be held. The concert in the evening will be given by Auckland's leading vocalists and instrumentalists. Mr C. J. Parr, M.P., is to lecture in the Public Hall at an early date on the British Navy and its work. In view of the fact that the ratepayers have decided to form a Town Board district very little interest was taken in the Road Board election on Monday last, it being recognised that another election will have to be held as soon as the Town Board area is granted by the Government. A largely signed petition has been forwarded to Wellington this week and the matter is being pushed on without delay, Mr J. Whitten has taken over the blacksmith's business lately carried on by Mr A. Budd.
