STOCK SALE REPORTS.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, report as follows : On Wednesday at our Westfield weekly fat stock market we sold fat cattle to the number of 293 head, comprising 161 steers, 116 cows and heifers and 6 bulls. Competition was steady throughout, with values unchanged. Choice ox sold to £2 lis, prime ox £2 7s to £2 9s ; rough and plain beef, £2 to £2 ss; cows and heifers, £2 to £2 7s ; steers ranged in price from £lO 10s to £22. Cows and heifers, £8 10s to £lB 15s. Fat and young calves came forward in average numbers and sold freely at prices slightly under last week's extreme values. Runners made from £5 12s to £8 17s 6d fcr an 18-month steer; heavy vealers, £4 15s to £5 10s; medium, £3 5s to £4 10s; light, £ 1 15s to £3 ; small and fresh-diopped, 2s to £1 10s (70 sold). We had an average market of pigs and prices improved a little. Choppers and heavy baconers made from £4 10s to £5 ss; others, £3 15s to £4 ss; large porkers, £3 to £3 10s ; medium, £2 5s to £2 15s ; small, £l 10s to £2 2s ; slips, 15s to £1 8s ; weaners, 6g 6dtol4s. (206501 d). Sheep were again penned in full numbers, and as has been the case lately a big proportion were unfinished. Prime mutton is very firm Heavy prime wethers made from £l 17s to £2 0s 9d (no extra heavy prime wethers penned) ; medium to heavy prime wethers, £l 14s 6d to £1 16s 6d; light and unfinished wethers, £1 9s £1 13s ; small unfinished wethers, £1 3sto£l 8s; extra heavy prime ewes, £1 14s to £1 16s 6d; good prime ewes, £1 10s 6d to £1 13s ; other fat ewes, £1 5s to £1 9s 6d ; other ewes, 16a to £l 4s (1685 sold). Lambs came forward in average numbers and sold well with the exception of small stores and those were neglected. Best lambs, £1 5s to £ 1 9s 6d, nothing extra good penned ; lighter lambs, £1 2s Gd to £1 4s 6d ; unfinished, 14s to 18s; small stores, 8s to lis. (359 sold)

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, report: At Waiuku on Saturday we held our monthly gale, and report a satisfactory clearance. Dairy cows and heifers £S to £l3, bulls £7 to £l4, store cows £5 to £8 ss, yearling steers to 18 months £5/7/6 to £7 10s, weaner calves £l 10s to £4 2s, porkers £2 4s, weaners 6s to 15s, slips 16s to £1 10a.
