KARAKA.

METHODIST CHURCH J OPENED. I The new Methodist Church at ' Karaka was officially opened on : Good Friday afternoon when an eloquent sermon was preached by the Rev H. E. Bellhouse, President-Designate of the Methodist Conference. There was a crowded congregation. It should be mentioned that the confirmation of the scheme for the building of the church was supported by the whole circuit, mainly through the efforts of Mr George Bycroft, of Karaka, while the land on which the building stands was donated by the Karaka Land Company through the influence of Mr J. Batty, who personally contributed towards the church. the afternoon at the opening** services the President was assisted by the Revs J. F. Martin (Pukekohe) and T. F. Jones (Papakura). A special offering was taken which amounted to over £2O.
