EAST TAMAKI.
A very enjoyable social was held in the hall last Wednesday evening, when a public welcome was tendered v to Messrs T. Gillard, R. Hill, McConnell and W. Yates, who have 1 lately returned from the Front. Appropriate speeches of welcome were made by Messrs W. Brown, F. M. Waters, and A. R. Harris. During the evening several musical items and a recitation were given and were much appreciated, and dancing was continued untii the small hours of the morning. An excellent supper was dispensed by the ladies in their usual efficient manner. The music was kindly supplied by Messrs C. R. Murphy (piano), and J. T. White (violin). A public reception committee has been formed, and it is intended to give a public welcome to everv soldier who returns to this district from the front.
