Picture patrons are notified that the picture "The Girl Phillipa," which drew big attendances at the Lyric, Auckland, some few months ago, will be shown at the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, on Wednesday of next week. This being the Fire Brigade's annual picture night a big attendance is expected. Mr J. P. Kalaugher, Supervisor of Technical Education, Auckland Education Board, was in Pukekohe on Thursday last and met the local Advisory Committee in connection with arrangements to be made for the 1918 Session of Technical and Continuation Classes. It was decided to hold a class in Agricultural and Dairy Science and a hope was expressed that young farmers would avail themselves of the opportunity offered. A similar class was held two years ago aud proved very successful. Home Science is a subject that has been taught with success at other centres and ought to be appreciated in Pukekohe. The subject includes cookery, hygiene and home management and first aid. An effort is being made to hold commercial and dressmaking classes during the day thus affording opportunity to those living in the out districts to attend. A timetable of the Session is advertised in this issue and the attention of all interested is directed to it. The Committee trust that the general public will second their efforts by taking full advantage of the opportunities offered of acquiring knowledge of a technical and general character.
