PAPAKURA.

There passed away on Tuesday afternoon last at the age of 8/i years an old and highly respected inhabitant of Papakura in the person of Mrs Catherine Mitchell McLean, the wife of Mr Andrew McLean- The deceased, who was born at Glasgow (Scotland) landed at Wairoa by the ship "Viola" on the 7th April, 1865, and had resided iu the district ever since. For over 30 years they lived at Cleverton. The deceased lady was of a genial and kindly disposition and had been a member of the Presbyterian Church all her life and was known for her many acts of kindness to ono and all. For some time she had been in somewhat indifferent health and Jier death was not altogether unexpected. She is survived by her husband, four sons and two daughters, Mrs W. Richardson and Mrs J. Walker, for all of whom much sympathy is expressed. The tuneral took place on Wednesday last at Papakura, the officiating minister being the Rev Hales. In addition to the relatives of the deceased many local residents followed the remains to their last resting place including Messrs R. M. Gillespie and P, H. Holt (representing the Papakvra Town Board), W. Richardson (son-in-law), H. Wilson, E. S. Cole, J. Fulton and others,
