EAST TAMAKI.
A dance was held in the District Hall on Friday evening, March Ist, when an enjoyable time was spent. There was a fair attendance, and dancing was indulged in until about 1 a.m. Mr W. S. Ormiston officiated as M.C , and music was kindly supplied by Mr E. Blake. The proceeds are to be handed over to the " Ladies' Knitting Guild."
On Saturday, March 2nd, the Flat Bush school picnic was held at the old picnic grounds on Mr E. Blake's property, and attracted a good representative gathering. The weather conditions were very favourable, and a very enjoyable day was spent, games and sports being freely indulged in, many interesting contents being witness-ed in the children's running events. The catering was supplied by Mr W. Gardiner, of Otahuhu, and justice was done to the abundance of good things provided. During the afternoon occasion was taken to present the trophy (a tennis racquot) kindly donated by Miss Adamson to bo competed lor iu the school tennis tournament. Miss Jessie Baverstock was the successful competitor, and in presenting the racquet Miss Adamson complimented her, and wished her every success in the future.
A tennis match is to bo played on the local courts on Saturday, March Oth, between representatives of the Papatoetoe and East Tamaki tennis clubs.
