Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., reports: We held our second sheep and ram fair in the Tuakau yards on Monday, and penned 7765 ewes, wether lambs, and rams Buyers were in attendance and, with the exception of one line of 2-tooths, everything sold. Taking the sale on the whole values were from 2s to 5s head higher than at last month's fair, the better class of ewes improving mo>t. Pigs: Porkers. £1 13s to £2 Bs, stores 18s to £1 ss, weaners to 16s At our weekly Westfield fat stock market our supply of beef totalled 294 head, comprising 227 steers, 60 cows and heifers, 7 bulls. There was again a strong demand and values firm, with an advance in

many cases. Choice ox sold to £2 128, prime ox £2 9s to £2 1 Is, plain and rough £2 to £2 6s, cows and heifers £2 2s to £2 Bs, steers ranged in price from £l2 10s to £22 12s 6d, cows and heifers £9 to £l6 7s 6d. There was an average yarding of sheep with a good demand, and last week's advance was easily sustained Extra heavy prime wethers made from£l 19s 6d to £2 3s 9d, heavy prime wethers £l 16s 6d to £1 18s 6d, medium to heavy prime wethers £1 13s to £1 16s, unfinished and light wethers £1 7s 9d to £1 12s. extra heavy prime ewes £1 14s 6d to £1 17s 3d, good ewes £1 8s to £1 13s, other ewes Hs to £ 1 6s 6d ( 1G18 sold). The 553 lambs which came forward included a big proportion of unfinu-hed. These were dull of sale. All fat lambs sold readily Heavy prime lambs £1 63 6,1 to £1 9s 6d. good lambs £1 3s 0d to £1 ss, lighter £1 Is to £1 3s, unfinished 12s to 14s, stores 5s to 10s 6d Fat and voung calves were penned in average numbers, and sold freely at late values. Runners made from £5 to £7 12s 61 for a nice-conditioned 18mth heifer, heavy vealers £;1 15s to £4 10s, medium £2 17s 6d to £3 10s, light £1 15s to £2 12s 6d, small and fresti dropped 3s to £1 10s (68 sold). We had a smaller market o f pigs than of late, and prices wore higher. Choppers and heavy bacon - ers made from £5 to £7 2s 6d, small baconers £4 to £4 18s, large porkers £3 10s to £3 18s, medium £2 15s to £3 9s, light £1 17s to £2 12s (136 sold). No slips or weaners yarded, and are wanted.

Dalgety and Co , Ltd., report having held their second sheep fair and cattle sale at Tuakau on Friday last, when they had a good yarding of sheep and cattle. There were buyers from the Waikato and surrounding district, and a very keen demand existed throughout tho sale. Ewr.s especially showed a marked advance in prices and practically the whole yarding was sold at auction ar top rates.
