MANGERE.
There passed away at hei residence at Mangere on Monday last at the advanced age of 80 years a highly respected inhabitant of Mangere in the person of Mrs Grace Eirkbride, widow of the late Mr M. M. Eirkbride, the member of Parliament for Manakau for many years. The deceased lady, who retained her faculties up to the last, came to Auckland from Scotland 56 years ago in the ss. Romulus and had resided| in the district most of that time. Two sons and two daughters are l"ft to monrn her loss namely Mr M. B. Kirkbride (Mangere), Mr Gilbert Kirkbride (Whakatane) and Mrs McAldon (Hauraki Plains) and Mrs J. 8. Montgomerie (Mangere). The funeral which took place at the Mangere Cemetery on Wednesday last was attended by a large circle of relatives and friends, the officiating minister being the Rev. J. Cu/rie. Much sympathy is exCied for the family in their avement.
