PRICE OF NEWSPAPERS.

INCREASED CHARGE At a meeting held in Auckland on January 24th of the newspaper proprietors of the Provincial District of Auckland, at which most of the city and country papers were represented, it was unanimously resolved in veiw of the marked rise in the cost of paper (such being 300 per cent above pre-war rates) to increase the price of newspapers to \%d per copy to regular subscribers or 2d per copy for single copies. This increase in price has been in operation in other parts of the N T orth Island since the early part of last year. The above arrangement came into force as from Monday, February 11th. Subscription rates to " The Times '' now are 3/3 per quarter delivered or 4/3 oosted ; Dooked rates 6d extra. ORDER YOUR PAPER Readers ot the '' Times '' are particularly requested to note that agents only receive papers to the exact numbers required for regular subscribers and orders should be given to agents accordingly. The only way to ensure obtaining a copy of the paper is to place an order with an agent for it to be delivered regularly. It often happens that extra copies are wanted because of some item of special interest. In such cases orders for the additional copies should be given to the head office or to the local agent.
