OTAHUHU
The funeral of the late Mr John Allport which took place at the Otahuhu cemetery on Tuesday last was attended by a large and representative gathering - a testimony to the high esteem in which the deceased was held by all sections of the community. The coffin was carried from the deceased's late residence to its final resting place by fellow employees of deceased, the funeral service being conducted by the Rev J. Currie assisted by the Rev McArthur. Among those present in addition to relatives were the Mayor (Mr A. McDonald), several Borough Councillors, Messrs F. Andrew (deceased's employer) and J. Hunter. Many handsome wreaths and floral crosses were laid on the coffin. The undertaking arrangements were carried out by Mr W. Mclvor, funeral director, Otahuhu.
