FRANKLIN A. AND P. SHOW.
OPENED TO-DAY
At a time when the products of the land are so intertwined with our success as a Dominion any endeavour which fosters the advancement of agriculture rightly deserves encouragement. In this connection it is a source of gratification to record that the well organised Franklin A. and P. Bhow which opened today at Pukeki;he should have again received such loyal support. One striking feature about this year's Show is the ready response on the part of exhibitors to farther the interests of the Society by record entries. This is not only pleasing to the management but has a radiating influence and enhances the reputation of the Society throughout the 1 Dominion. Primarily the Show exists for the encouragement of agricultural and pastoral pursuits but its educational and social aspects should not be overlooked. THE EXECUTIVE. Controlled by farmers and businessmen the Society is fortunate in haying as this year's President a practical farmer and well-known public man in the person of Mr Dynes Fulton whose agricultural and business experience in no small way contribute to the Society's success. Then in Mr J. M. Baxter the Society has au ideal Secretary. His wide knowledge of Show details ensures perfection in the arrangements and his personal interest in the Show marks him as a valuable official. Mention must also be made of the zealous work performed by Mrs Baxter in assisting in the secretarial duties
