N.Z. FARMERS' UNION

NEW SUB-PROVINCIAL AREA The Executive Committee appointed by the various branches of Franklin Sub-Piovincial area of the N.Z. Farmers' Union met in the Masonic Hall, Pukekohe, on Friday afternoon last. Those present were Messrs Walter Johns (Pukekohe) chairman, E. C. Cuff (Mauku\ W. H. Thomas (Bombay), C. Hodgkinson (Glenbrook), W. L West (Waiuku), J. W. Robinson (Pukekohe East) and E. C. Frost (Tuakau;.

Officers were elected as follows : President, Mr J. W. Johns; vicepresident, Mr C. Hodgkinson : ti earner, Mr E. C. Frost who was also appointed secretary pro tern. It was resolved to communica e with the following branches inviti- a them to appoint representatives ioi their districts : Whaugarata, Drui y. Maungatawhiri, Ouewhero, Awhuu, Glen Murray, Pukekawa, Huima and Maramarua. Mr K. M. Gillespie (Papakuia who had been appointed as a d> legate to attend the meeting oilered some helpful advice on the organisation of the district and assured the Executive that as far as Papakura was concerned his.branch would givo every support to the Union. It was decided to hold the next mtetiug of the Executive on Friday the Htli March at 1.30 p.m.
