OTAHUHU
In anticipation of a large response 1 from the pnblic, circulars are being 1 sent to the head teachers of schools asking that notice of the Children's Carnival Sports may be brought before their parents. The schools circularised are Te Papa, Onehunga, Mangere, Panmure, Epsom, Ellerslie, Papakura, Manurewa, Papatoetoe, Mount Koskill, Newmarket and Parnell. Sir Fredk. Laing, MP,, has accepted the invitation of the Patriotic Committee to officially open the Carnival The Premier (the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, MP.) has also signified his intention of being present if at all possible. All the Committees are busy making every endeavour to provide various attractions suitable for all classes and the ladies' Committee are devoting much time towards making the Carnival a success. Entries for the open events at the sports close on Saturday next and particulars as to the same will be found in our advertising columns.
