MANGERE.
SALE OF ASCOT ESTATE PROPOSED SUBDIVISION The sale of the Ascot Estate at Mangere to Mr H. Han is, of Hawke's Bay, is reported by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. The estate, which has been the home of Mr 11. B. Mackenzie's Ascot stud farm for übout ten years, consists of GOS acres, and the price at which it his changed hands is stated to be nearly £-10,000. The property was originally known as the Greenwood Estate, it having been owned at one time by Major Greenwood, who took part *n the Maori war. For a very long time past it has been leased to various tenants. Mr H. K. Mackenzie has been the lessee for about 18 years, whilst for about 17 years prior to the commencement of his lease it was occupied successively byMr John Smith, his son, Mr Gabriel Smith, and Mr D. H. Mackenzie. The estate at present is the largest single holding in the Mangere district. The new owner proposes to subdivide the land, and it is being offered for sale in lots to suit purchasers
