STOCK SALE REPORTS.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile lAgency Coy., Ltd., report as follows: At Pukekohe on Tuesday we had an exceptionally large yarding for the time of the year. Competition was good, the market showing a firmer tone. Three to four-year steers sold at from £l3 to £l4 15s; two to three year old steers £9 2s 6d to £l2 15s, yearling to 18-months steers £6 5s to £8 17s 6d, ditto heifers £4 15s to £7 10s, heifers, suitable dairy purposes, £6 10s to £9, empty cows and heifera £6 10s to £9 ss, aged and inferior cows £4 to £6 ss, weaner calves good £2 15s to £4 10s, others £1 15s to £2 12s 6d, bulls 7gns to 15£gns, large quantity of beef at fully Westfield rates. Fat steers to £lB, fat cows to £l4 ss. At Westfield fat stock market on Wednesday beef was penned in average numbers. Competition was firmer, the market showing an upward tendency, although quotations are the same. Best oxen sold to £2 lis per 1001b, others £2 5a to £2 10s "per 1001b, cow and heifer beef sold at from £2 2s to £2 8s per 1001b, steers sold at from £l4 5s to £2l 7s 6d, cows and heifers sold at from £9 to £lB ss. Calves were penned in large numbers and prices were consequently lower. Runners made from £5 12s 6d to £9 ss, heavy vealers £4 to £5 2s 6d, medium £2 10s to £3 17s 6d, light 27s 6d to £2 7s 6d, fresh dropped 12s to 255, weak and inferior 5s to 10s. Sheep were penned in large numbers and sold at improved rates. Best wethers sold at from £1 14s 6d to£l 17s, others £1 10s6dto£l 13s 9d, others £1 6d to £ I 8s 9d, hoggets £1 2s 6d to £1 12s 6d, wooUy ewes £1 16s to £2, woolly wethers £1 19s to £2 3s 6d, woolly hoggets £1 14s to £1 19s 6d. Lambs were penned in large numbers, and sold under steady competition at improved prices. Best £l 4s to £1 9s 6d, others 17s to £1 3s 9d, inferior lis fid tc 16s 6d. Pigs: A large yarding. Prices easier than previous week. Choppers and heavy baconers sold from £5 to £6, others £4 2s to £4 17s 6d, large porkers £3 7s fid to £4, medium £2 12s 6d to £3 ss, light 35s to £2 10s, slips 24s to 31s, weaners 15s to 235. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report: The clearing sale held on Monday on account of Mr J. Wansbone, at Waiau Pah was well attended and satisfactory prices realised. Cows brought from £8 to £l6s 10s, separator £25, calves £2 to £4 16s, brown gelding £22 10s, gig £l3 ss, , pigs 20s6d to£l 15s 6d.
