Messrs Alfred Buckland & Sons are to carry out a clearing sale on Monday next on behalf of Mr J. Wansbone, who is retiring from dairying, on his farm at Waiau Pah, For particulars see advt. An exhibition of work executed at the Pukekohe Technical School is to be held in the school grounds on Tuesday of next week at 1 15 p m and an invitation is extended to the general public to be present. The Prime Minister (the Rt Hon W. F. Massey) has arranged to visit Pokeno on Friday of next week to unveil a Roll of Honour aud on the following day (Saturday) he is to visit Waiuku.

As a set-off to the record rainfall experienced in Pukekohe earlier in the year, as recorded on the Kosemont gauge by Mr J. S. Sinclair#*, the fall last month only amounted to 1.22 in. as compared with 7 33in for November 1916 For October and November this year the fall has been 5.84 m. as against 13 70in for Oc'o ber and November of last year

The following dates for Magisterial courts have been fixed for the first three months of next year, viz Pukehohe Court: Thursdays. Janu 10 and 24, Feb. 7 and 21, March 7 and 21. Waiuku: Fridays, Jan 11, Feb. 8 and March 8. Papakura: Fridays, Jan. 25, Feb. 2'2 and March 22. Otahubu: Mondays, Jan. 28, Feb. 25 and March 25. Merer: Mondays, Jan. 14, Feb. 11 ami March 11.

The NZ. Dairy Association are distributing, in accordance with the announcement previously made, a supplementary bonus of I|d per lb for butter-fat supplied durirjr last season. This is a very satisfactory and substantial payment and will be very acceptable to the Association's suopliers. It is as from 30th November.

Mr W. P. Hopkins, of the legal firm of Messrs Thorne, Thorne and Hopkins, Pukekohe, who was previously medically rejected on enlisting has now again volunteered and has been accepted for active service He is the sixth member of his family to join the colours, four of his brothers being at the front and a fifth having made the supreme sacrifice. Of four othe- brother* two are in the 2nd Division and two are still at school. Mr W. P Hopkins will be leaving Pukekohe about the middle of this month an ! during hK absence tho business will be carried on as usual, Mr Fred Thorne, the well-known Auckland solicitor and a member of the firm, visiting Pukekohe every Thursday. A record entry has been secured for the flower show an l industrial exhibition to b* held in the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, next Thursday and Friday in aid of the funds <>f St Andrew's Church and the fl iral display promises to be unusually brilliant. Various stalls will cater for the sale of goods and guessing competitions will .also be in progress On Thursday night awards will be made by popular vote for the most original and best fancy dress competitions On Friday night there will be the usual auction sale of exhibits donated, etc.
