POKENO VALLEY' A correspondent writes: Things are humming in this district, for the claims of the Pokeno School Committce have be9n jumped. The committee had intended that the Roll of Hon mr. which has been prepared, should be ceremoniously unveiled at the Fohool by the Prime Minister (the Kt Hi n W. F. Niamey) who litis promised to visit Pokf-no for the purpose on the 14th inst., but some ine bns got in ..head of the ■School Comniittee and Iv.s persuaded The Prime Minister to cwrry nut the < ermuony in private grounds elsewhere. The Committee are most indignant and have called a public meeting of protest for qpxt Friday evening, when some good, plain, straight talkitg may be anticipated. A bill convening the meeting in question invites the public to " come and do your duty by upholding your committee, who h*/e uphold you."
