PAPAKURA.
I ' TENNIS CLUB FORMED A number of Papakura residents met the Chairman of the Pahurehure Domain Board at the Library on Thursday evening 29th, with reference to the Village Green site for tennis courts. The Chairman (Mr Gillespie) explained the position to the meeting and on the motion of Mr Crawford the meeting decided to forward the following resolution to the Domain Board, viz: " That this meeting of Papakura residents approve of the Village Green site for tennis courts and respectfully ask the Domain Board to prepare asphalt courts at the earliest date and th*t this meeting agrees to form a tennis club and to rent the courts at a rental to be agreed upon as soon as the club is formed." It was decided to call a meeting of those interested in the scheme for Thursday next at 7.45 p.m. A party of enterprising local sports recently acquired a launch not only for cruising round the waterway between Auckland and Papakura but also to indulge in their fayourite sport of fishing. On Sunday last Messrs H. Cobbald (skipper), T. Walker (engineer) and W. fiowe (wheelman) brought the much prized purchase from Onehunga and as a result of the day's fishing landed about 350 schnapper
