METHODIST MISSION SERVICES.
The ten days' mission held in the Pukekohe Methodist Church by Rev. Val Trigge has been an unqualified success. On Monday, the 9th, the Mayor (Mr H. G R. Mason) gave the missioner a civic welcome. Each evening the church has been well attended and the Premier Hall was also well filled on Sunday evening last, whilst the school children's services have also been well attended.
A unique feature was the •' Old Folks' at Home " held on Friday afternoon last. Some 100 invitations were issued to persons over €0 years of age or who were grand parents. About 60 or 70 responded. They each received a buttonhole with card attached containing the words "At even-time it shall be light." Prize bouquets were won by the following: Mrs Worth, 85 years of age, the oldest person present; Mrs Routley, 58 years, the oldest Pukekohe resident; Mr Goldsworthy and Mrs Beloe, 73 years. Longest in New Zealand, Both were born in the Dominion, Mrs Beloe four months before Mr Goldsworthy. Mrs Willis, the oldest Christian, 55 years. Mr and Mrs Usher and Mr and Mrs Miller tied for the longest married, viz., 55 years, the latter winning by a few months. Mrs Miller gained the prize for the most grandchildren, 51. Nearly all had children or grandchildren at the front and sang lustily " God Save the King." Over 100 cards of decision have been signed. The mission closes to-morrow (Wednesday).
