Moon carried out the duties ■of Secretary in his uaual happy I stylo. j The ladies of Papakura interested I in the formation of a Croquet Club met in the Parish Hall on Thursday, November Nth, to discuss the question. Messrs I). W. Jones and C J. Moon (President and Secretary respectively of the Rowling Club) were in attendance and intimated that the Bowling Club would bo pleased to set aside a portion of its greon for croquet if the ladies of Papakura were prepared to form a Club. The meeting then decided in favour of such a Club and elected the following officers to manage the Club's affairs, viz. : President, Mrs R. J. Willis; vice-presidents, Mesdames E. D. McLennan and I). W. ' Jones ; secretary, Mrs N. Walters ; treasurer, Miss Bull ; committee : Mesdames James, (handheld, Moon, Butler and Miss Johnson. Mrs Grandfield moved a hearty vote of thanks to the Bowling Club for their generous offer which they all much appreciated. It was announced that play would commence on the lawns to-morron (Saturday).
