HOSPITAL BOARD ELECTION
Voting for the representation of the combined district of Franklin County, Pukekohe Borough and Waiuku Town District, on the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board took place on Wednesday in conjunction with tho County Council elections, Mr J. G Rutherford, the retiring member, being opposed by Messrs J. P. Ashor and 0. K. Lawrie, troth of Pukekohe. The Pukekohe town vote was a substantial one, tho two local candidates being each freely supported as compared with Mr Rutherford, but elsewhere in the County Mr Rutherford's old associations for the most part stood him in good stead and he finally proved victorious, being 46 votes ahead of Mr Asher with the latter b'>9 votes in front of Mr Lawrie
