Dairy Company's new factory at Tuikau is to be performed next Monday at 2 p.m. by the Prime Minister (Mr Massey\ At the annual meeting of the Aka Aka Drainaee Board held last Thursday, Mr J. N Massey was elected chairman on the motion of i Mr G. Hull, seconded by Mr E. Bent. A final reminder is given the public that the Government war films "Sons of the Empire" are to be shown in the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, to-night. The prices are 2 - and 1/-, reserves Gd extra. In a letter to Miss Usher, the secretary of the Pukekohe branch of the W.C.T.U., the Wellington organiser of the W.C.T.U. gratefully acknowledges the receipt c f a donation of £1 14s Gd and a parcel of warm woollen clothing sent for the benefit of the minesweepers and torpedoed crews. Messrs Stembridge & Co., of the Pukekohe Auction Mart, report as follows:—At our weekly sale on Friday last we had a large attendance, with brisk bidding. There was t large yarding of pigs and all sold. Poultry were penned in exceptionally large numbers and found ready sales. Some of the prices realised being: Hens 2s to'is lid, ducks 2s to 2s Gd, chicks "d to 1 Id, pigs, weaners, 14s calves 15 i to £l, potatoes (old) 6s cwt, cabbage 3s dozen. Miscellaneous vegetables and new potatoes were scarce.— Particulars of special entries for next Friday's sale are advertised in this issue. The members of the Pukekohe Branch of the Womeu's Patriotic League wish to convey their thanks and appreciation to the many willing helpers who rendered valuable assistance towards making "Paddy's Market," the proceeds of which are to be devoted to the benefit and comfort of our soldiers on the battlefields, the success it proved to be To those who assisted with donations in cash or in kind, to those who helped with the actual labour in carrying out the function and to the many others who in various ways assisted, grateful thanks are extended by the Commi ctee. It's a long way to Tipperary but it's a short way to the polling booth, where vou should vote for ASHER to-morrow. -(Advt.)
