A casualty list issued last night by the Defence Department includes the following notifications : KILLED IN ACTION. Johns, William H. (Lieut.) —Mr Walter Johns, Pukekohe (brother) DIED OF WOUNDS. Torr, Fredk. J. Mrs Torr, Clevedon ' mother). WOUNDED, ADMITTED HOSPITAL. Lee, John H.—Mr J. H. Lee, Mercer (father). Sharp, Henry—H. Sharp, Esst Tamaki. A casualty list recently issued by the Australian Defence Department contains the names of Corporal Alan Bailey (next-of-kin —Mr C. R. Bailey, Manurewa) and Pte James Stewart (next-of kin, MrG. Stewart, Rama Rama) as " Wounded, admitted to Hospital).
THE LATE PTE M. CRONIN. Private Michael Cronin, whose death in action on October 12th was recorded last week, was the son of Mr and Mrs Michael Cronin, of Pukekohe Hill. The deceased soldier, who was only 20 years of age, was horn in the Northern Wairoa and was educated at Mapina. After leaving school he was engaged on a Wireless Station and enlisting left New Zealand with the 14th Reinforcements. Much sympathy is expressed with the family in their bereavement.
