WAIKATO RIVER BOARD.
Petitions and Grants
Two petitions on behalf of the River Board praying for inquiry into the operations of the recent Waikato River Commission, were presented to the House of Representatives on Wednesday by Mr R. F. Bollard (Raglan). The Supplementary Estimates as presented to Parliament provide for a grant of £1750 to the Waikato River Board, allocated as follows: Maramarua stream, clearing willows and dredging Kopuku, £450 ; Ohinewai (Churchill channel), clearing and dredging, subsidy, £400; Opuatia stream, blasting rock, £loo;iOpuatia stream, clearing willows, £100; Waikato River, repairing groynes, £500; Whangape creek, clearing willows, £2OO.
