FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL KARAKA BRIDGES SPECIAL RATING AREA. NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Franklin County Council held on Thursday, the 11th day of October, 1917, the following resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Council, to be held on Wednesday, the 28th day of November, 1917, at 2 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Hall Street, Pukekohe.
RESOLUTION: In puisuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by " The Looa Bodies Loans Act, 1913" and by virtue| of a warrant dated the 27th day of May, 1914, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor in terms of Section 119 of "The Public Works Act, 1908" and published on pages 2346/7 of N.Z. Gazette No. 56 of 4th June, 1914, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves, by way of Special Order, as follows For the purpose of providing the Franklin County Council's share of the cost of constructing the bridge over the Whangamaire river situated in the Karaka Road District, Auokland Land District near the south east corner of Section 20, Karaka Parish, Block 11, Drury Butvey District, and also the bridge over the Hingaia river in the Karaka Road District, Auckland Land District, at the north eastern corner of Bection 37, Karaka Parish, Block 111, Drury Survey District, such bridges being known as the "Whangamaire and Hingaia Traffic Bridges," the Franklin County Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan of £375 at 4| per cent per annum for a period of 36 i years over the "Karaka Bridges Special Rating Area," hereinafter described. A 1 that area in the Mauku Riding of Franklin County bounded towards the west and south west generally by the Mauku stream and Taihiki river from the public road known as WaiukuDrury road at the southernmost corner of Section Number 20, Parish of Waiau to the Manukau Harbour at westernmost corner of Section Number 35, Parish of Waiau, thence towards the north and north west generally by the Manukau Harbour to the mouth of Te Hibi Estuary, thence towards the east generally by the said Te Hihi Estuary the Whatapaka Inlet and another inlet forming the eastern boundary of Section 2, of the Parish of Waiau, and by the Karaka Parish to the publio road known as the Waiuku-Drury road at the easternmost corner of Allotment 12 of Section 11, of the Parish of Waiau, and thence towards the south east and south generally by the said WaiukuDrury road to the point of commencement. ; Dated at Pukekohe this '29 th day of October, 1917. In exercise of the powers confered on it by Section 31 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Franklin County Council, on the petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Maungatawhiri Road District, resolves by way of Special Order, that the said Maungatawhiri Road District be merged in the County of Franklin, and the Board thereof be abolished.
