Welcome to Returned Soldiers

[To the Fditor] Sir,—l wish to congratulate the Women's Patriotic League on their successful entertainment of Saturday last,it havinghngbeen feltthatsome public function should be held to re cognise and thank our local returned " boys " for the great sacrifices they have made in cause of Empire and Freedom. The ladies of Pukekohe and surrounding districts at quite short notice came to the rescue and have been the means of enabling citizens to meet together to show the "boys" that they are, appreciated and I trust that this welcome will be the forerunner of many more to come. It is the least we can do to meet together and by doing homage to show our thankfulness to the Boys who have fought and suffered on our behalf. Yours, etc., T. B. HURLEY. Pukekohe, 29th Oct., 1917
