PUKEKOHE FIRE BRIGADE

I Labour Day Competitions The Pukekohe Fire Brigade hold I their annual competitions on Monday j last (Labour Day) when the various ; events were keenly contested. A feature of the day was the open j competion for visitors, for which | teams representing Devonport, j Ellerslie, Otahuhu, Onehunga *and i Pukekohe entered, the event being I won by Devonport. Some of the j competitions were rather spoilt by i the rain, but nevertheless exrellent ! times were recorded. Medals were i donated by Mossss R. F. Webster, ! F. Perkins, 0. Clarke, R. Miller, W. : Wright, 0. R. Lusher, Aspden, W. T. Jones, P. Boyd, J. J. Coady, S. ! Gallagher and C. K. Lawrie. The I cup presented by Mr J. T. Stem- ! bridgo was also competed for, being won by Fireman H. Wright. Mr W. Wyatt officiated as judge, i assisted by Secretary Osborne, of Onehunga. The timekeepers were Messrs K. Wood and W. Dunsbee, while the_ starters'duties were effici iently discharged by Mr J. Hindman, Mr J. F. Deane kindly acting as recorder, The following were the results : One man carry : Capt. Brown 41 ! sees., 3 sees, penalty, total 44 sees., | 1; Fireman Weston, 17 4-5 sees,

i Open Competition (for teams of ; two men): Devonport, Supt. Follas I and Foreman Stevens, 13 2-"> sees, j 1 sec. penalty, total II 2-."> sees., 1, i Pukekohe, No. 2: Foreman I Adams and Secretary RollinsoD, 12 I sees, 5 sees penalty, total 17 sees, 2. Pukekohe No. 1 : Capt. Brown and Fireman Young, 4 I 4-5 sees,:'.. i One Man Championship (for Stembridge Cup and Medals) : Fireman H. Wright 7 ( J sees, penalty 1 sec, total 80 sees, 1; Fireman C.
