PAPAKURA.
NEW TOWN CLERK. At a special meeting of the Papakura Town Board held last Saturday, Mr Harold Wilson, son of Mr Henry Wilson, was appointed Clerk to the Board in succession to Mr H. W. Geissler (resigned). The new Clerk is a returned soldier. He was edueited first at the local school and then attended the Onehunga High School. Subsequently he attended special classses in book-keeping and accountancy at Robertson's Business College, Auckland, where he obtained certificates of merit in those subjects.
Mr J. Ryan, proprietor of the Papakura Hotel, desires to extend his sincere thanks to the residents of Papakura for the help Riven and kindness shown him on the occasion of the recent fire.—(Advt.)
A plain and fancy dress ball, as a close for the season of a series of dances, is to be held on Tuesday, November 6th, in Richardsou's Picture Hall. A prize is to be presented for the best lady's fancv dress.
