In an election address advertised in this issue Mr J. P. Asher, in support of his candidature for the representation of the combined district of Franklin County. Pukekohe borough and Waiuku.on the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, refers to one or two important matters concerning the Board's system of administration.

The application of the Pukekohe Chamber of Commerce for the telegraph office at Pukekohe to be open for an hour at night-time during the summer months has now been ac(eded to by the Postal Department and as from yesterday telegraphic facilities, are accordingly afforded from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The arrangement, however, will only continue in force subject to business warranting it and also to the Department heing able to provide the necessary staff.
