An interesting prersentation was made by a party of old friends to the Misses R. and V. Kimber, of Pukekohe, prior to their leaving for Auckland. The presentation, which consisted of silver serviette rings, was accompanied by the best of good wishes for the Hisses Kimber's happiness and wellfare. The billiard rivalry between Pukekohe and Waiuku is to be further tested on Thursday evening of next week, when "the cracks" of either town are to again meet atMolntyre's saloon, Pukekohe. The match will be the third of a series, each side having previously secured a victory. It was a case of "the light that failed" at St Andrew's (Anglican) Church, Pukekohe, last Sunday evening, when, owing to the current shortage of carbide, the acetylene gas supply gave out and the service, which was only about halfway through, had to be brought to a summary conclusion. A case of considerable interest to parents in towns where regulations requiring attendance at Technical Classes are in force was heard at Waihi recently, before Mr Page, S.M., when a parent was charged with failing to send his son regularly to the Waihi Technical School evening classes.
