DRURY
A very pleasing function recently took place in the Public Hall, Drury, when a large concourse of friends met to give a social in honour of Private Arthur Girdwood, who was up on final leave. The func'ion was presided over by Mr J Flanagan in his usual able and eloquent manner. Speech makers of the evening were Messrs J. Flanagan. H. G. C. Glasson, J. D. Fyfe and Thos Brooks. The supper was by the local caterers, Messrs J. and J. Rugg, and was up to the mark in every way. Mr W. Tooman was M.C. for the dance, tbe musicians being Messrs Cossey and Morgon. The energetic secretary (Mr J. Quinn) left nothing undone that would contribute to the success of the function, and the pleasure of the patrons.
