Dilworth from whom copies of the paper may be ordered."] PAPATOETOE SCHOOL COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the School Committee was held on Monday last. Present: Messrs Hunter (chairman). Hall, Dilworth, Scott, Hamilton and Haddock. A letter was received from the Education Board re the appointment of a teacher in Miss Foster's place 1 notifying that Miss A. J. Greville would take over the duties as assistant on September 1 st, Miss Gregson, relieving teacher, to be withdrawn on August 31st. The Chairman reported that the Committee's working bee had carried out good work during the past month. Fencing had been erected in the Dew horse paddock and approaches made. A circular was received from the newly formed School Committee's Association giving rules, regulations, and aims of that body.—The local delegates (Messrs Haddock and Dilworth) were deputed to attend a Conference on Saturday evening next in Newton East school. The headmaster, Mr Andrews, attended and reported that the children in Standards I. and 11. had held a concert in their room to raise funds for Paddy's Market and as a result the sum of £1 lis 8d was raised. The secretary (Mr Haddock) reported that the sum of £2l was available out of the concert funds towards the new bike shed and that the Education Board's subsidy would be £ls.
