NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council, held on Wednesday, the Ist day of August, 1917, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting to be held on WEDNESDAY the sth day of September, 1917, at 7.30 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Edinburgh street. In exercise of the powers conferred on it by Part XLII. of "The Municipal Corporations Act. 1908," the Pukekohe Borough Council hereby makes, by way of Special Order, a By-law under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," entitled "The Electric Light and Power By-law, 1917." The object and purport of the proposed By-law are as follows : 1. Interpretation. 2. Method of application for supply. ?>, Council may require deposit or accept guarantee from new consumers before granting supply. 4. Conditions to be observed by consumers prior to connection with supply, 5. No connections to be made until installation approved by officer appointed by Council. 6. Electrical Engineer to inspect installation upon receiving written notice from consumer. 7. installation to be inspected and tested by Council, and no connection to be made until approved. 8. In event of defects being discovered in any installation Council may disconnect same until remedied. 9. Council may test any installation; order defects to be remedied, and require any work to be done to its satisfaction. 10. Council may disconnect any service for purpose of testing. 11. Council does not guarantee continuous supply ; is not liable for stoppages caused by accident beyond its control, and reserves light to cut off any supply during repairs to plant or mai s. 12. Al installations to conform to rule* of the English Institute of Electrical Engineers. 13. ChaTges determined by resolution of
