EAST TAMAKI.
EAST TAMAKI ROAD BOARD The monthly meeting of the East Tamaki Road Board was held on Monday, 30th July. Present: Messrs 0. Wallace (chairman), Guy, Sharp, Waters, and White. It was decided to accept the terms of the Lawn Tennis Club's offer for the Board to take over, on behalf of the residents of the district the hall and all the property and to purchase the equity of the property. Many complaints were received about unlicensed cattle and horses being out on the roads and r. serves and of their being allowed on the roads at night time.—After some discussion it was decided to instruct the Ranger to try and stop the practice. It was also decided that the Clerk should write to those persons who were turning their stock out on the roads and reserves as it was not fair to the residents whd were paying for licenses to graze during the daytime. Many washouts and slips were reported to have occurred on the various roads in the district on account of the resent heavy rains and the Board decided to do what they could to repair the damages. No objections having been received, the rate book was signed as correct and the rate was confirmed, The Clerk reported that some of the persons notified to clear furze and noxious weeds opposite their properties had not complied with the Board's request and it was decided that summonses should b j issued against defalters.
