Tenders are invited by the Auckland Education Board for the sale for removal of the teacher's residence at Papakura. Particulars will be found in an advt in this issue. One of the most highly respected inhabitants of Papakura in the person of Mr John Burnett pass »d away yesterday at his residence " The Poplars " after a short illness at the advanced age of 76 years The deceased, who carried on the business of an orchardist for some years, was of a quiet and unassuming nature He was a member of the old Road Board and also served as a Bchool Committeeman. As a valuel member of the Presbyterian Churca he had held the position of elder for manv>years. A native of Scotland he lived in the Argentine before Settling in New Zealand. The deceased, who was a widower, leaves a grown up family of five daughters and two sons to mourn their loss.
