One of the most highly respected inhabitants of Papakura in the person of Mr John Burnett pass »d away yesterday at his residence " The Poplars " after a short illness at the advanced age of 76 years The deceased, who carried on the business of an orchardist for some years, was of a quiet and unassuming nature He was a member of the old Road Board and also served as a Bchool Committeeman. As a valuel member of the Presbyterian Churca he had held the position of elder for manv>years. A native of Scotland he lived in the Argentine before Settling in New Zealand. The deceased, who was a widower, leaves a grown up family of five daughters and two sons to mourn their loss.
