LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR HALTED BY SENTRY.
Lieutenant-Governor Schocnz-ck, of Albany. X.Y. went to the. Capitol late .mo night to <;ct wrnc papers. He -w.xs tripping blithely along when a sentry hold him up. "I'm tho T.ieuknantGovernor." sai<l Mr. Schoenock.
"Maybe yon are. hut w here's vour pass?" .saidthe sentry. "I've had at least half a dozen Lieutenant-Governors three or four Governors, and fifty Senators in the last week/' " Hut I assure vou T " "I know, but'you'll have to have i pass to fret by ma." Later Mr. Schoenfvk laimhed as he told of lis midnight trip to the home ci the Capito! superintendent to get a ]>ass. "However tlv> sentry did right. 'Hiat's what they're there fo," he said.
