Notice to Strike Rates NOTICE is hereby given in compliance with Sections 78, 80, 83 and 89 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1903 : Section 50 of the Rating Act, 1988, and Section 41 of the Hoipital and Charitable Institutions Act. 1909, that it is the intention of the Pukekohe Borough Council, at the next Ordinary Meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 18th, at 7.30 p.m., to strike and levy the following rates for the year ending March 31st, 1918, viz: A General Rate of Id and a Hosp'tal an 1 Charitable Aid rate of J of a Id in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property within the Borough. A Separate Water Rate: (1) Consumers rate in respect of the ordinary supply (8000 gallons per six months) on all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, to be based on the annual value, viz; (a) where the annual value does not exceed £l2 10s the sum of 10s, (b) where the annual value exceeds £l2 10s, 5 per cent on the first £3OO of such value, and 4 per cent on the balance of such value above £300; (c) Upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than as dwelling houses half the above rates.
(2) Non-consumers rates: Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situated within 100 yards of any part of the Waterworks, one half of the rate* above mentioned. (3) Upon all lands and buildings supplied with private mains 5 per cent on the first £SO; 2M percent on the second £SO and 1 per cent on so much of such value as exceeds £IOO. And a uniform "fee for Nightsoil removal for the period from May 11/17 t« March 31/18 of 23s per pan. All the above rates to be payable in one instalment on the 15th day of August, 1917. The Valuation Roll, together with estimated amount of expenditure and receipts for the year, are now deposited for inspection during office hours at the Office of the Council, Edinburgh Street. J. K.
