[To the Editor] Sir—ln reference to the recent letter that appeared in your columns signed "Interested" we, the undersigned, desire to say that we were in no way responsible for the same. As members of the Puni School Dommittee we think it, however, necessary to allude to the statements made in a letter in the "Times" signed by Messrs J. B. Nicholls, J. Landon, and W. Preece denying "Interested's" claim that the old committee had left the school in debt when they vacated office, the Committee's financial statement as published in your issue of April 27th showing a credit balance of £l3 5s lid. The actual position is that the balance sheet setting forth the credit balance of £l3 5s lid was based on the figures for the year ending December 31st last whereas when the Committee went out of office on April 30th the credit balance at the Bank with payments made in the meantime only stood at £4 13s 2d whilst accounts amounting to £4 15s lid were due.
