OTAHUHU BOROUGH COUNCIL PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Otahuhu Borough Council in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Seotions 48 to 55 of " The Rating Act, 1908," and its amendments, Sections 78 and 89 and 95 of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," and Section 51 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1913," and their amendments, Bection 41 of" The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909," and its amendments, Section 60 of " The Public Health Aot, 1908," and its amendments, Sections 20, 21, 22, of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913," and "The New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Act, 1909," and their amendments, and of every other power thereunto enabling it, at a meeting of the said Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, Great South Foad, Otahuhu, on THURSDAY, the Fifth Day of July, 1917, at 7 30 p m. o'clock in the evening, will make and levy the following rates for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1917, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1918, viz : (1). A General Rate of a One Penny and Nine Sixteenths of a Penny (1 9-16 d) in the £ (2). a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of a Five Sixteenths of a Penny in the Pound (5-l6d). (3) To colteot a Special Interest Bate of a One Penny and Nine Sixteenths of a Penny (I 9-16 d) in the £ to meet the Interest and Sinking Fund charges on the following Special Loans : Water and Drainage Loans of £23,500; Great South Road Improvement Loan of £3,000; Office and Workshops Site Loan of £750; Mangere Bridge Loan of £750; Nightsoil Service Loan of £500; WATER RATES AND CHARGES (4) Tn respect of the Ordinary SupplyUpon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied (excepting supplies by meter) a rate of a One Hundred and Forty Fourth of a Penny (l-144d) inthe£, with a minimum charge of Ten Shillings (10/-) per annum. (5) Non-Consumers Rate—Upon all lands and buildings to whioh water can be but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the waterworks, a rate of a Two Hundred and Eighty-Eighth of a Penny (l-288d) in the £ being one half of the above mentioned rate with a minimum charge of Five Shil-
lings, (5/-) per annum. The Water Charges for Extraordinary Supply and Meter Rent, are fixed by Sections 426 and 430 of the By-Law, No. 3 of the said Council. All such rates to be upon the Unimproved Value of all Rateable properties appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the Borough of Otahuhu. That a uniform Sanitation Fee of Twenty Shillings, (80/-) per pan per house for Sanitation purposes for the year 1917-18 be made and charged on all properties in the Borough outside the Drainage Area, and served by the Nightsoil Service. The whole of the above Rates, Sanitation Fees, and charges will be due and payable in One Sum at the Office of the Town Clerk and Borough Treasurer, Oreat South Road, Otahubu, on the 23rd day of July, 1917. The Estimates upon which the whole of the above Rates are being struck having been approved by the Council are together with the Valuation Roll and Rate-Book open for inspection at the Council Chambers, Great South Road, Otahuhu, between 10 a.m. and Noon, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on all business days of the week exoepting Saturday between 10 a.m. and Noon. 0. Papakura Road Board Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Papakura Boad Board at an ordinary meeting to be held at the Board's Office, Alfriston, on Monday, 25th day of June, 1917, at 2 p.m., to make and levy a General Rate of Three eighths (|) of a Penny in the £ on the capital value of all Bateable property in the Papakura Hoad Board District, Pursuant to Section 108 of "The Boad Boards Act, 1908," and further Amendments, also a Bate of One Tenth 0/10) of a Penny in the £ on all Bateable property in the No. 1 Loan Area-and a Bate of One Fifth (1/5) of a Penny in the £ on all Bateable property in the No. 2 Loan Area. All the said Bates commencing on the First Day of April, 1917, and ending jon the 31st day of March, 1918, to become due and payable to the Collector at Alfriston in one turn before the 31st day of August, 1917.
