Bacon and Meat Packing Company's revised arrangements are that they will be buying pigs at Buckland tomorrow (Wednesday), at Pokeno on Thursday, and next week on the usual days at Onewhero, Tuakau, Papakura and Runciman and Te Kauwbata. The Pukekohe Soldiers' Farewell Committee invite " the boys " of the 28th Beinforcement draft now on final leave to be present at a farewell social to be held in the Carnival Tea Rooms on Thursday evening next. The following are among those to be enteitained, viz. : Privates VV. Duggan, Les. Howe, W. McSheen, G. Flynn, J, Douglas, C. Hawke, L. Growden, Les Mitchell, J. Daltou, F. Shippherd and N. Williams. Dairy Company, Ltd., are to be held at Mercer on Thursday next at 7 p.m. ; on Friday at Pokeno Hall (10 a.m.'), at Mauku Store (3 p.m.), and at Puni Hall (at 7.30 p m), tnd on Saturday at Mangtre at 2.30 p.m. Mr W. Goodfellow (Managing Director) will address the assemblies on each occasion.
MrE. C. Cutten, S.M., is to preside at the Magistrate's Court at Pukekohe on Thursday next in place of Mr F. V Frazer, S.M , who will be holding a Court at Warkworth. Offing to Mr Frazer's absence the further hearing of the potato transaction case, Glasgow v Perkins, has been postponed until Thursday, July sth. A special teim for the dressmaking class as part of technical education in Pukekohe is being arranged and intending pupiis are requested to bo in attendance at the class next Thursday. There is a danger that luck of adujuate attendance may cause that form of instruction to be abandoned, but it is to be hoped that s intents will be forthcoming in such numbers us to aveit that possibility.
