DRURY.

WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC LEAGUE A the last meeting of the Women'i Patriotic League there was a good attendance. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs Bregman and was enjoyed by all. The undermentioned goods were handed in for transmission to Auckland, viz : Socks, Mesdauies Strong 8 pairs, John Blake 8 pairs, McMurtrie 6 pairs, Glasson, snr., 6 pairs, T. Brooks 5 pairs, (Jomrie 4 pairs, Morrison 3 pairs, Bremner 3 pairs, W. Glasson 3 pairs, I. Wall, Barclay, Bregman, and Hill 2 pairs each, Hewlett, Smallfield, D. Bremner, McNaughton, James Blake, and Fyfe 1 pair each, Misses N. Hill 5 pairs, Bernard, Barnes, Mcpherson, and Dixon 2 pairs each, Bremner, Smallfield, Cossey, A. and J. Appleby 1 pair each; Mrs J. Dickson 4 Bal. taps and 1 doz eye bandages, Miss Glasson 3 face cloths, Mrs Fyfe 2 face cloths, totalling 78 pairs socks, 4 caps and 5 face cloths.

The Drury Cadets dance, in aid of the Wounded Soldiers Fund, held in the Drury Hall on Monday last, was well attended. The takings amounted to a little over £5. Great credit is due to the boys for the artistic way in which the hall was decorated with greenery and hung with flags. Messrs W. ±*latt and J. A. Hill officiated as M.C's. and carried out their duties thoroughly. Messrs Cossey and Morgan, assisted by Mrs H. Lodge, provided the music, which was much appreciated by all. The Secretary, Mr W. Sutherland, is very energetic and takes pride in doing his work well and efficiently, and Monday's function afforded another proof of his able management.
