" John Bulls' Register," a monthly journal published at Wellington for the sole purpose of exposing to the public view the seriousness of the extent to which " peaceful penetration'' of our trade and commerce has proceeded, and the enormity of the danger to which we are exposed by the " Unseen Hand'' which an easygoing Government still permits to exercise its talents in our midst, is a fearless and well-conducted periodical which is rendering yeoman's service in showing up the activities of those of enemy descent and their sympathisers. But though usually excellently informed in the matters it deals with, in its last number it made a very awkward mistake, which no doubt it will hasten to rectify. In dealing, in a strongly condemnatory way with the demand of the Executive of the Auckland Farmers' Union that the Government shall put a stop to voluntary recruiting, it published a long list of suspiciously foreign looking names of shareholders of the Auckland Farmers' Union and asked that " the Government should make a full and searching enquiry into the personnel of an organisation that makes such a frankly disloyal suggestion at such a time.'' Unfortunately for " John Bulls' Register " the names are not those of members of the N.Z. Farmers' Union, but of a co-operative auctioneering company in the North of Auckland.
