Y.M.C.A. CAMPAIGN.
The great and noble work being performed by the Y.M.C.A. at the front was vividly described by Mr EI. M. Staeeton at Pukekohe last evoning iu furtherance of the campaign instituted to raise funds for the maintenance and expansion of the Y.M.C.A. woik. The sum aimed at to be collected in the Auckland Province is £2-5,000. The object is admittedly a most worthy one ; it is entitled to the active and liberal support of every person in the community who is interested in the wellfare and well-being of our soldier lads. These all admit their gratitude to and appreciation of the efforts made by the Y.M CA. on their behalf; therefore we owe it to our representatives in the fighting line to ensure that the comforts and conveniences which the organisation affords shall be continued. It can be done by everyone "doing their bit." Many can give only a very small sum, bu, .-.mall turns soon aggregate a considerable amount, and therefore the committee trusts that no one will hold back the "little" because they cannot send the "niuckle." Indeed, special efforts are being made to gather iu the small sums. All must recognise the need; therefore all must feel their responsibility to the matter. The boys in the trenches are fighting fo: u- who remain at homo. We cannot go to the trench, but we can show on; gratitude to those who do by an endeavour to make their lots ;s pleasant as possible Remember in giving to the Y.M.C.A you are giving to the hoys, and that your contribution will ho expended iu the most economical manner, getting the maximum results front a minimum exp 'iiditure.
