STOCK SALE REPORT.
Mpssrs Alfred Buckiand arid Sons report as follows: On Wednesday at our weekly Westfiold fat stock market, we pen ned beef to the number of 3.5 C head, comprising 208 steers, 145 cows and heifers, and three bulls. The quality of the steer beef was excellent, many of the drafts being equal to anything offered this 3 ear. The demand and values were very similar to those ruling at last week's sale. Choice ox sold to £2 9s per 1001b, prime £2 7« to £2 8s 6d, ordinary and rough beef £1 16s to £2 -ss; cows and heifers, £2 2s to £2 8s per 1001b; steers ranged in price from £lO 10s to £2l 128 Gd; cows and heifers, £8 15s to £lB 15s. The highest averages for steers were : 8 from George Hastie, Papatoetoe, £2O 10s 7d; 8 from Mr George Hull, Otaua, Waiuku, £2O 10s; 13 from Mr J. Crawford, Otaua, Waiuku, £l9 18s sd; 10 from Mangere, £2O 12s fid; 8 from Mr W. Wright, Otaua, Waiuku, £lB 1.55; 20 from Mr J. D. 1 Kemp, Awhitu, £ 19; 12 from Mrs E. M. Reid, Maiori, Waiuku, £l7 lis; 8 from Mr C. G. Robertson, Otaua, Waiuku, £l6 7s 6d; 8 from Mr Charles Bischoff, Waiuku, £ls 13s 9d; 12 from F. T. Martin, Waerenga, £l4 15s Id; 16 cows and heifers from Messrs Sampson and Sons, Waerenga, £l2 3s 8d; 15 from Papatoetoe, £l2 5s Bd. There was about an average yarding, of sheep, but a number of lines were unfinished. There was an improved demand with a further advance for all classes. No extra heavy prime wethers came forward. Heavy prime wethers, £1 19s to £2 2s 3d; medium to heavy prime wethers, £ 1 16s to £1 18s; unfinish ed, £1 13s 6d to £1 15s 3d; small store wethers, £1 6s 9d to £1 10s 9d; extra heavy prime ewes, £1 18s to £2 0s 6d; good ewes, £1 14s to £1 17s; other ewes, £1 3s to £1 12s (1781 sold). Lambs penned in full numbers and sold without change in values. Good prime lambs £1 8s no extra heavy offered, lighter £1 4s to £1 6s 6d, light and unfinished 17s to £1 3s 6d (566 sold). We had a moderate yarding of fat and young calves. Choice vealers were short of requirements, and advanced in price. Runners made from £7 to £8 10s, heavy vealers £'3 15 to £6 10s, small and fresh dropped lis to £1 18s, weak and inferior 3s to 10s (61 yardedl. There was keen competition for the 236 pigs, and prices improved. Choppers and heavy baconers sold from £4 to £5 128 6d, others £3 5s to £3 18s; large porkers £2 12s, to £3 3s, medium £2 3s to £2 12s, small £1 12s to £2 2s, slips 18s to £1 Bs, weaners 12s 6d.
