Mr Lockie Gannon, consulting engineer, wrote reporting on the result of his inspection of the Hunua road bridge. In his opinion a new bridge was necessary. The creek should also be straightened by a cut on the Papakura side of the road The bridge, to adequately cope with the flood water, should be widened to 14 feet and raised about two f i t above present level of the roadway that would necessitate the future raising of the road for a fdiort distance back at each end of the bridge He recommended that the bridge be constructed of reinforced concrete, the cost of which he estimated would be £l4O, which amount did not include the suggested cutting and cleaning out of the creek. This report gave rise to a good deal of discussion but as information was desired on important points from Mr Gannon no decision was arrived at.
