WAERENGA.
WAERENGA FARMERS' UNION. The annual meeting of the above union was held on Saturday evening last in the Waerenga Hall, Mr. 8. J. Bennett presiding. Mr. J,. H. Ming, the newly-appoint-ed organising secretary of the Waikato sub-provincial executive., was present, and addressed members on the advantages of co-operation in all matters pertaining to the farming community, citing the growth of the Farmers' Union Trading Company in Auckland in illustration of what was possible by co-operation. If, as was pointed out, farmers continued to rally to the support of the Trading Company as they had been doing, in a very little while "they would have a business institution that would exceed anything that they had ever dreamed of. Likewise if farmers co-operated in their support of the union they would have an organisation behind them that would make them a power for good and certainly abolish the possibility for the imposition of anything in the nature of a class tax such as the butter tax. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. King at the conclusion of his ad-dre.-s. Oflieers for the ensuing year were app inted as follows:—Chairman, Mr. S. V. Bennett; vice-chairman, Mr. P. MePherson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. ('. 0. Bennett; delegate, Mr. S. A. Wait.'- executive committee—Messrs. .1 Sampson, J. R Storey, R. P. Maw-.-ton, \V. Carter, C. Teddv; military eoinmittee— Messrs. S. J. Bennett, J. K. Storev, D. Bruce; auditor. Mr. J.
Sampson. The future meetings nf the branch arc to be held on the Saturday eveniivj- <>n or nearest to the full moon.
