A HARVESTING CLAIM. At the Papakura Magistrate's Court, last Monday, Mr. F. V. Fruzer, S.M., resumed the hearing of the action in which Louis Norman White, labourer, of Hunua, sued Alexander Anderson, a farmer, of Hunua, for the sum of £ll Os 6d, being the amount said to be due for harvesting hay for the ant. Mr. C. L. Curtis appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. A. L. Denniston represented the defendant. The question involved a dispute as to the rate charged for mowing the Plaintiff, in giving evidence, said that lie was accustomed to charge 3s Gd per acre for mowing, but had charged 4s 6d per acre in that instance on account of the rough nature fit the country, there being many logs in the paddocks, which made the work difficult. Plaintiff added that he would never do mowing again for 3-i Gd per acre. Evidence was given by Henry Hunter Civil, fanner, of Hunua. to the effect that 4s an acre would be regarded as a reasonable chanre for cutting and mowing hay, but it would depend to a great extent on the crop and the nature of the (.'round. Arthur Wallis, farmer, of Papakura. said he considered 'is Gd an acre reasonable. and that a charge of Gd would be " plenty."
